Sew Kitschy – February block
It’s February! Which means it’s time for the second block from the Sew Kitschy BoM! Are you ready for it?
So our retro kitchen has its oven mitts and potholder ready to go, but now we need something for Betty to store all those baked goods in. How about a cookie jar for those homemade delicacies? Though my cookie jar is more likely to be filled with store bought goods and stuffed with envy of those who can bake.
Now this is still one of the easier patterns to piece. It only has four sections. However there are a couple of little angles in this one. So I would suggest you pop by my tutorial on paper piecing angles to help you out with those. Angles can be a little tricky when it comes to paper piecing but the best thing you can do is use a larger piece of fabric. And read my tutorial – it explains how I tackle them.
Oh and you won't need to piece the word "Cookies". That's meant to be embroidered or added with a fabric marker. Rest easy!
February’s block is now listed in my Craftsy shop as a freebie, and January’s block has become a paid pattern needing to earn its keep. If you’re not keen on waiting for all of the rest patterns to be released as freebies, I also have the full bundle available for purchase for the eager beavers!
So pop by, download the pattern and get sewing! Then head back here to share your photo in the linky party and check out what everyone else has made! Happy sewing!
